We keep data collection to a minimum. Here's exactly what we store and why:
Your name and email
When you create an account through our sign-in provider. This lets us identify your account and send you your score reports.
Your practice exam results
Scores, category breakdowns, and time taken — so you can track your improvement over time in your Progress dashboard.
A Stripe customer ID
If you upgrade to Pro, Stripe gives us a reference ID so we can confirm your subscription. We never receive or store your card number, expiry date, or CVV.
Basic page-view counts
We count which pages are visited to understand what's useful. This is anonymous and aggregated — it's not tied to your identity, your scores, or your account.
Just as important as what we collect is what we'll never do:
✕ We never sell your personal information to anyone.
✕ We never share your scores with employers, recruiters, or any third party.
✕ We never send unsolicited marketing emails or share your email with advertisers.
✕ We never feed your scores or personal data to analytics or advertising companies.
✕ We never store credit card numbers — Stripe handles all payment security.
Everything we collect serves one purpose: helping you prepare for the CCAT. Specifically, we use your data to:

Your connection to Ascend is encrypted with HTTPS. Your account is protected by secure authentication tokens. Our database is encrypted at rest. We follow industry-standard practices to keep your data safe.
We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. Our analytics service uses cookies to count page views — these don't identify you personally. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Your data belongs to you. You can:
To access, correct, or export your data, email us at [email protected] and we'll respond within 48 hours. To delete your account, just go to My Purchases and click Delete Account.
If we make meaningful changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and note the revision date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also notify you by email if you have an account.
